How to choose your Yoga Mat?
well its not that difficult there are only 2 kinds thick and thin.
Beginners usually feel more comfortable with the thicker yoga mat.
I also advice any one over 40-50 to also choose the thicker one.
Skinny people or any-one who's  spine bones are probing outwards should use the thicker yoga mat.
There are circumstances that even the thicker one doesn't feel thick enough,
use an extra towel under your back if you are feeling the pressure on your spine bones,
In time you will move forward and forget that you need extra padding.

Why do I need my own Yoga Mat?
There are places that will have extra mats for beginners to use.
There are places that usually offer a free lesson to see if you want to participate in yoga lesson.
So different people are using the same mat.
I have seen schools that will wipe down the matt after you have used it and other probably wont.
In the lesson, you are usually bare foot, the matt is there for your feet to be able to grip not slip,
and stand in a stable positions.
So for hygiene reasons you need to buy your own Yoga Mat

How is it best to clean your own Yoga Mat?
Plain simple soap and water.
Do not use any chemicals or alcohol containing products to clean your mat.
Just wet it with the shower spray soap it down with a sponge and rinse.
Hang it out to dry, not in direct sunlight.
No need to do this after every lesson but at least once a month.
I know some one that put hers in the washing machine on 30 degrees
